1. Sweets and soft drinks

The Sweets and Soft drinks you take, might be killing your sperm count.  According to a recent research in  journal Human Reproduction.

A recent  researchers found out  that high consumption of sugary drinks was associated with low sperm motility, or sperm movement.  This  result was found in healthy, lean men.  However this effect wasn’t  found on overweight or obese men.

2.Processed meat

A new study led by Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health researchers found that frequent consumption of processed meats can affect fertilization rates in men, (“man’s ability to fertilize an egg”), while eating more poultry may improve his chances.

Processed meats are meats that has been preserved by curing, salting, smoking, drying or canning.

Poultry are domesticated birds kept by humans for their eggs, their meat or their feathers.

To keep your sperm healthy lower your consumption of processed meat and eat more poultry meat.

3. Canned goods

A chemical found in plastic bottles(BPA), soda cans and many other common products appears to adversely affect sperm in men, according to new  study of more than 200 Chinese factory workers.  However a recent European Food Safety Authority review, of 800 studies, said, “it doesn’t affect humans exposed to only very low levels of BPA”.

BPA (bisphenol-A) is a chemical that is added to many commercial products, including food containers and hygiene products. … BPA is also used to make epoxy resins, which are put on the inner lining of canned food containers to keep the metal from corroding and breaking.

Some research has shown that BPA can seep into food or beverages from containers that are made with BPA .

4. Foods with high level of Cadmium

Foods and meats such as liver,shellfish, kidney, liver, mushrooms and root crops , etc. might be tasty, but they’re not good for your sperm since they are rich in cadmium, a mineral that affects your sperm count.   Cadmium is of no use to the human body and is toxic even at low levels.

Avoid much intake of cadmium.

5. Soybean products

Soybean reduces 40% of your sperm according to a study in Harvard School of Public Health in Boston. Soy might be healthy and tasty, but if you’re trying to conceive, you should avoid much intake of soy and soy-based foods.

6. Full fat milk and dairy

Consumption of dairy products may diminish sperm quality and fertility according to Scientists from Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, US.  ” even small amounts, may have substantial adverse effects on male fertility” they said.  According to their study they observed poorer sperm quality in men whose daily diet included at least three portions of full fat dairy. One portion was defined as 28 grams of cheese, a teaspoon of cream, a 250ml glass of whole milk or a scoop of ice-cream.

7. Fruits and vegetables with pesticides and preservatives

Intake of high-pesticide produce was linked to poorer semen health, according to a research by scientists from Harvard School of Public Health, which involved 155 men aged 18-55 who had been attending a fertility center between 2007-2012.
